Indeed, the earth resounds with songs of praise and thanking- Ebenezer, see how far God has brought us!
That October day in 1988 when we all came from our different backgrounds to become one family of Sisters joined by pure, loyal friendship which will carry on into our adulthood. We have a lot to be thankful for.
Yes, we set records of being firsts. From the first to enjoy Sr Zita's slaps on that fateful morning during our first week in St Roses through to the highs and lows of our stay in this glorious school.
Yes, in our second year we were the first batch of students to have mates win a Global essay Competition- World Postal Day 1989 lifting up our school's name high through to our fifth year when our mate won the best WAEC results in O' level in 1993 - we indeed have a lot to celebrate !
Red Commandoes we called ourselves on the 25th anniversary of St Roses we drew placards and painted them Red as our uniform for our House dress was red checkered.
We won sprints in the 100meter dash and 1500 meter dash. Won beauty pageants in 1991 and 1992- Back to Back !
We entertained our school with our own plays and even acted " The Gods are not to blame" with such pure creativity and vigour that saw the admiration of hundreds of people including our dear Fr Aturo.
Yes our years in St Roses were beautiful from the omutuo and palmnut soup on Wednesdays through to waakye on Thursdays and fish jollof on Sundays not forgetting the occasional rice water on Saturday evenings.
Yes we haven't forgotten Friday Farmwork and our daily social duty which ranged from cleaning House Four ( toilets) through to working on the pepper farm and in the school's administrative offices.
We will not also forget the Acies meeting when boys' school Legionaries would visit us in their well ironed uniform and we in turn wore our best house dresses of course with the teenage hormones raging in us- the rest is a whole story !
We will never forget Miss Mensah inspecting our teeth, underwear and our wardrobes and calling out unkempt girls.
" Get out of the class", " "Gerrout of the class" shouting Mr Adjei of blessed Memory and many more phrases our Teachers used to reprimand us with .
At this point we will like to remember our deceased mates and teachers that God grants them eternal rest and blesses their legacy.
We are a tribe, a sisterhood, a family ! Our motto ever being Roses' to uphold !
Knowlege and virtue will lead us through life from Roses'- our hearts aglow and our spirits go high !
